How long is it necessary?
Spanish regulations require that children up to 135 cm tall use an approved child restraint system (CRS) appropriate to their weight and size. The recommendation of the DGT and ours is to continue using it up to 150 cm. It is advisable to keep the child rear-facing as long as possible, at least until he or she is 15 months old.
Most modern vehicles have an ISOFIX anchorage to install the car seat, although older ones do not have this system.
We can find different types of installations depending on the characteristics of the chair and the vehicle.
Types of facilities
Vehicle belt
There are seats where the fixation is done using the car's own seat belt, allowing use in vehicles without ISOFIX.
Isofix
Internationally standardized anchoring system for a safer, faster and easier installation. It consists of two anchor points in the vehicle directly on the chassis and metal bars on the car seats that fit into them.
Isofix + Top Tether
Third anchoring point for car seats that, together with the ISOFIX system, provides greater security by preventing the upper part of the seat from moving forward in the event of a collision or sudden braking. This system consists of a strap that extends from the top of the seat and is anchored to a specific point in the vehicle, such as the trunk or behind the backrest of the rear seat.
Isofix + support leg
Lower anchoring system, which consists of an extendable metal leg that comes out of the base of the chair and rests on the floor of the vehicle, preventing the chair from swinging or rotating in the event of an impact. Used in conjunction with the Isofix anchorage to provide a safe and comfortable installation.

Safety regulations R129/i-Size
The R129/i-Size standard for car seats is the latest safety standard. Unlike the previous rule, it is based on the baby's height, not weight. Asalvo car seats are approved in independent laboratories according to this new European regulation.
