Thus, one of the most frequently asked questions is the one that gives the title to this post and that we want to answer today to help all of you who have this question.
A priori, a rectangular travel cot and a square playpen are two different items, which comply with different regulations and are designed for different purposes, but which, in some cases, you can also use in a similar way, that is, they will cover your needs in the same way.
First of all, we are going to detail the characteristics that ASA travel cribs and square playpens have in common, and we will indicate the differences below. Knowing the things in common, you will know that both options are functional and practical items for you and your baby, and knowing the differences you will know which is the most suitable for what you really need.
What do Asalvo travel cots and square playpens have in common?
- Its robust structures, which allow you to use it up to 15 kg. You can find both travel cribs and playpens in a wide variety of colors and designs, but absolutely all of them have a similar base structure.
- A padded base that will provide both with comfort and that will allow you to safely place a mattress on top of it for rest.
- In terms of safety, both the Asalvo travel cot and the square playpen meet the strictest European guidelines: materials and textiles, wheels with two brakes, rounded and laminated corners (which also match the textile) and double safety closure
- Folding and transport. The folding system of both items is similar (simple and fast), and both come with a comfortable bag so you can store and transport them. In addition, as we indicated when talking about safety, by having both wheels, you can move it inside the house without difficulty.
- All square playpens, and most ASALVO travel cribs, come with a door or cat flap, so that when your baby is older he can use it to enter and exit as he pleases. Both will serve as an area or play space for your baby. - The first difference is significant and is the dimensions. Although they have the same height, 77 cm, the measurements of the travel cots are 60 cm x 120 cm, compared to 100 cm x 100 cm for the playpens. Regarding the surface it is 0.72 m2 versus 1.00 m2.
- ASALVO square playpens do not have double height because they are designed primarily as a play area, and Asalvo travel cribs may or may not have it, depending on the model.
