Today instead of talking to you about any of our products in particular or giving you advice now that you are going to be a mother, we are going to tell you What we do at ASALVO to contribute to the preservation of the planet.

When you as a consumer are looking for a product or item, there are many aspects that you take into account: price, availability, durability, functionality, quality, safety, warranty, etc. Since you recently found out that you are going to be a mother, you have begun to see everything that, in the first months of life, your baby will need: baby stroller, high chair, car seat, hammock, wooden crib, co-sleeping crib... Surely when it comes to buying the products that your baby will need you will look at everything that we have indicated above, but you will do so with much more interest because it is about your baby.
Thus, you will try to make the baby stroller or trio comfortable for him but functional, manageable and foldable for you, you will ensure that the car seat is a maximum safety chair, you will want the mattress of your crib to be comfortable for him to rest, you will want his high chair or his hammock to be multi-position so that they have more use... And in addition to all these aspects, we are sure that you will pay attention to the sustainability of the product, the greater or lesser ecological component of it, and in short, how the manufacturing of the item you are going affects the environment. to buy for your baby.
ASALVO clients are increasingly aware of respect, care and preservation of the environment. Out of respect for them and out of our own conviction, at ASALVO we have launched a program or initiative that we have named ECOFRIENDS, which integrates all the measures implemented in the short, medium and long term regarding SUSTAINABILITY. We are going to share with you in broad strokes some of the points of this comprehensive plan of initiatives whose sole objective is to CONTRIBUTE TO MAKING THE PLANET WE LIVE ON A CLEANER AND HEALTHIER PLACE, NOW AND IN THE FUTURE.

It is not easy to define the concept of SUSTAINABILITY, But we are going to explain to you what, for us, those of us who make up the ASALVO team, it means that one of our products is SUSTAINABLE: a product is sustainable if it meets the needs of the current ASALVO customer, but does not compromise the needs of future generations, it allows us to grow as a company and contribute to the growth of the global economy while respecting the environment.
- At ASALVO we have made a large investment in studying the packaging of all the products in our extensive catalogue, with the objective of keeping the consumption of plastics, paper and cardboard to a minimum. Awareness of the limited use of plastic packaging in our products has been going on for years and we always try to take a step forward in that regard. In recent years we have limited and almost eliminated bubble filling as a protective measure in our items, replacing it with other biodegradable fillers, and we have eliminated the use of plastic strapping in our boxes.
- At ASALVO we also work with forestry certifications such as the prestigious PEFC and FSC, both highly recognized and consolidated. Although with nuances, and without wanting to go into technical details, in both cases they are global forest certification systems, which throughout the supply chain promote good practices in the forest and ensures that forest products, such as paper and wood, are produced respecting the highest environmental, social and ethical standards. We require these certificates from suppliers around the world with whom we work, mainly regarding the wood of our cribs and all cardboard and paper packaging.
- Not only do we use recycled paper and cardboard, but we are also adhered to the Ecoembes GIS system, which facilitatesCollection and subsequent management of cardboard materials from our facilities
- A direct way of contributing to sustainability by companies like ASALVO consists of manufacture long-lasting products. That is why we increasingly focus on looking for suppliers that provide us with highly efficient and durable materials, resistant to abrasions, twists, high pressures and compressions. That a product becomes obsolete quickly, that stops fulfilling the function for which it was manufactured in a short time, should always be interpreted as a failure from the point of view of sustainability. At ASALVO we have proposed that this not be our case and our team of engineers and designers work in that direction.

- In addition to the products having durability, one of our maxims is multifunction product manufacturing, the so-called 3 in 1, 4 in 1 etc. products. With this objective, we have incorporated into our catalog hammocks that are also used as high chairs, cribs that become playpens, tricycles that become scooters... From the point of view of reducing consumption, regardless of sales volume, it is one more contribution from ASALVO.
- In addition to everything related to packaging (plastics, paper, cardboard, etc.) that we have told you before, We have minimized the volume of our boxes to make transportation more efficient. In this regard, we also want to tell you that our transportation partners, the companies that bring us merchandise from our suppliers or collect merchandise for our clients, are companies with implemented sustainability initiatives. Freight transport currently has a great impact on polluting emissions. We ask the transport companies with which we work to minimize the environmental impact of their activity: it is about achieving total neutrality of CO2 emissions and generating the least amount of waste possible. It is also important when it comes to transportation to determine what is urgent and what is not. The carbon footprint of an express shipment is much greater than one that is not express. It is up to all of us to work in that direction.
- When a product becomes obsolete for the general public, or When a product has a small aesthetic defect that does not affect its usefulness, we give it a second life, collaborating with NGOs and public organizations. This second life means in practice the non-destruction of materials whose manufacture has involved considerable industrial activity and energy expenditure.
- And also at the closest and local level, we try to make our daily life respectful of the environment: in all our facilities the lighting has been LED for a long time, we have intelligent systems for turning lights on and off and we aspire to self-consumption with the use of photovoltaic panels
We have already told you how we do our part in this enormous task of preserving our planet. We have an enormous challenge ahead of all of us who live on the planet, individually, as companies and also as public organizations and the states themselves. If you have any suggestions on how we can do even more, please don't hesitate to contact us. We will be happy to assist you!!!
