It has arrived, it has arrived! Back to school is here, the little ones in the house have to say goodbye to the beach and pool, as well as the end of that relaxed look at the habits of their routine for the rest of the year. The gradual return to day-to-day life is hard for us adults, and children are not exempt from needing a period of adaptation.
It is very normal to see children excited about going back to school, since for them it means seeing their friends again, sharing fun experiences and having a great time, but it is true that the first days of routine can become difficult for them, so showing them support and motivating them in the face of this challenge is essential. In the previous article we told you some tricks to get back into the routine, focused on the little ones. Now, from Asalvo, we want to offer you some ideas to make the famous back to school more bearable.

1. September is not synonymous with boredom.
Although August has the well-recognized reputation of being the month of plans, it should not translate into September being the month of the end of fun. Take advantage if you have free afternoons, and do small activities with them: take a mini excursion around your town, go see a movie at the cinema, play in the park...any plan you have within reach. And if unfortunately this is not your case, then take advantage of the weekends to escape from routine.

2. Participate in the back-to-school process.
Involving them in the choice and acquisition of school products creates a feeling of responsibility in them: you trust them and it makes them feel older. Plus, it's an added moment together, an afternoon of shopping focused on them, and on top of that they can debut their material!

3. Show interest in their first days.
The first days of school are full of events and excitement, and it is essential for them since, after a few days, children begin to adapt to their routine. Asking about their day the first few days is important to detect if something is not going well from the beginning of the course, and if everything is going smoothly. Likewise, if everything goes well, just the fact of telling you about their school day is very motivating for them.

4. Tell him what yours were like.
Create a bond between mother/father and child by sharing your own experience of going back to school, and everything it meant for you. To begin with, you make them feel understood, since you have already been through what they are going through, and in addition to feeling happy that you trust them to get to know you better.

5. Lead by example.
You are the mirror in which they look at themselves, and that is why the attitude of parents when faced with the arrival of the terrible routine should not be just that: terrible. If you are one of those people who suffer the famous post-vacation stress every year, you can imagine the feelings you reflect. Show excitement about the new changes that are coming, so your little one will be safer and in the end so will you.

And that's it for Asalvo's advice to have a wonderful adaptation to going back to school.
